Listening: Going under by Evanescence

Hospital visits at its best. The medicinal smells, sounds of beeping machines and alarm sirens and the occasional doctor/nurse scurrying back and forth. I went to visit my maternal grandma who had just been admitted into Tan Tock Seng a day earlier due to a growth in her colon. She had just undergone a surgery this morning.

My strong, resilient Grandma who was funky enough to wear bright purple nail polish, adventurous to learn a new language at her age, makes the BEST (I dare you to challenge me) chilli belachan and other dishes, and gives me all the love and support in the world. To see her lying on the hospital bed, swaddled in white cotton robes, looking so vulnerable and weak just broke my heart.
I looked away before any of my relatives noticed I teared up.

I guess it just things like this tht make u really think about life, and put a lot more stuff into perspective. Suddenly, going on dates and saving up for tht Denise Lassler bag you've been eyeing doesn't seem tht important after all.

Coincidentally, another two close dearies both have engagements with medical institutions currently, as do I. Sigh. Well, I guess the best tht we can do know is hang tight and pray for their fast and complete convalensce.
