Listening to: a whimsical selection of love songs

Went around looking at my friend’s respective blogs; and it appears that what Ping once mentioned in an entry; Singaporeans really don’t know how to let off the ‘post-exam syndrome. Kinda reminds me of the ‘post-purchase behaviour’ we studied in marketing, but I shall not go on bout this any longer. God knows I need a more exciting life..

Currently listening to the requiem that made the movie Moulin Rouge, ever so memorable. Overwhelmingly hear-wrenching it ain’t, but extremely clichéd it was. But I remember what Jas once told me, “If you want to do clichéd, do it Really well.’ I suppose that was exactly what made the whole star-crossed lovers plot linger in my brain even till now. But to be honest, I seem to find the songs speaking more of the tragic love story even more strongly then how Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor tried to portray. I have nothing against them, their acting was great, but I guess that’s the wonder of music.

It makes me muse about something though. I think it s the big question that most of us are always looking for answers, and some we may never get. What exactly is Love? Will we ever find true love? Will we be able to fall completely in love like Christian and Satine?

I guess that’s the difference between reality and fantasy. I don’t really know what love is, and I don’t think I’ve ever been in love. I won’t sprout some chim philosophy about how deep and how ground-shaking love is, nor will I rattle on about how life-changing it may be. I’m only seventeen, and I don’t think I’ve reach that point of my life yet.

But I’ll still keep looking out for that special someone to come into my life and to show me just what the Love is all about. Till that moment arrives, I’ll carry on my life with a little smile, one that foretells of the happiness that is yet to come.


Hey, I got all perceptive over a song?! Hmm...perhaps I’m not as shallow as I think I give myself credit for. *sheepish*
